There's a lot you can do to help!
GRANT WRITING:
Posted Thursday, May 12, 2005
The city is interested in giving FIRST RUN a $150,000 renovation. This will be the largest renovation our run has seen. It will include a state-of-the-art surface and solve the nasty problem of drainage and flooding in the run. However, Parks is asking the community to help raise $65,000 of the necessary funds.
Here's your chance to make a real contribution to FIRST RUN and be involved in one the most exciting community-renewal projects our park has seen.
PLEASE VOLUNTEER
We need a group of dedicated volunteers to seek out grant opportunites and write the applications. You can do as much or as little as you are comfortable with. Honestly, finding one grant and applying for it is a real benefit.
In addition, many corporations already have established grant-giving opportunites for their employees who are involved in community projects. If your company participates in one of these programs, then come on board.
Grants will be awarded to "Friends of First Run" -- the official 501c(3), tax-deductible, charitable organization responsible for caring for our run.
For more information about the renovation and how you can help, please contact "Friends of First Run" at the link below:
